Tiraspol, June 19. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. It should be given a legal treatment for the attack on Bendery in June 1992. Those who planned invasion into the city have to be held responsible, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky said on the air of the First Pridnestrovian Channel.
On June 19, 1992, Moldova armed divisions attacked Bendery. A large number of the victims (489 people: 132 civilians and 5 children died. 1242 persons, including 13 children were wounded) became the result.
According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, literally in two days before the invasion into Bendery the Parliament of the RM made the decision on exclusively peaceful settlement of the Pridnestrovian conflict. Then the city was unblocked. However, at the same time, Chisinau secretly prepared a military assault.
«The city was opened because there was a decision of the Parliament and peace arrangements. But as soon as the city was unblocked, on June 19 the invasion began from Chisinau, Căuşeni and Varniţa directions. There were columns of armed men. They were against civilians, – Vadim Krasnoselsky noted. – I will tell you like the military person: when the Parliament made the decision on peaceful resolution of the Pridnestrovian conflict, the invasion had already been prepared, the order was given».
To bring together such a number of people, to provide them with food, regimentals – it is impossible to make it in two hours, the President emphasized.
«It was a mobilization work. Who was engaged in it, perfectly understood that all this needed a time? It was the planned action. And it was planned long before the decision of the Parliament. After the invasion civilians – women and children – died. We were deceived, in fact. I was convinced that if the city had been blocked, it was possible to avoid this victim. The enemy would be met on posts. Civil people would have an opportunity to take cover or leave Bendery», – Vadim Krasnoselsky told.
Political leaders of Moldova, the former communists who pitted the Moldavian and the Pridnestrovian people, are guilty of the numerous victims; the President of the PMR is sure.
«Therefore it is necessary to give the political, legal and historical assessment, to punish those who are guilty of slaughter. There was no national conflict here – there was a territorial conflict», – the President of the PMR noted, having explained that among defenders of Pridnestrovie there were a lot of Moldavians.
Those who gave criminal orders have to be held responsible, Vadim Krasnoselsky is sure.
«Orders were given by specific people. Also, it is not only about June 19. It is about murders of civilians – Ostapenko, the deputy of the Supreme Council of the MSSR (he was meanly shot in a back), Hussar. Who will be responsible for these crimes? It is elementary terrorism. And it is impossible to agree with terrorists. They should be judged.
But then they were awarded. We have to know who gave the order. And the guilty persons have to be held responsible for this order», – Vadim Krasnoselsky said.
Crimes against humanity have no limitation period. To give a political and legal assessment to those events is one of the five questions which the President of the PMR addressed to the President of the RM Igor Dodon. Still, there is no answer.
«I do not want to be responsible for mister Dodon. I addressed this question to him. Legal and historical treatment is necessary for us. Why is so? Just to confess is simply not enough. Repentance will not solve a problem. It is not necessary to repent. Give a legal assessment. And when it happened, it will be possible to come to repentance», – the President of PMR concluded.
