DOSEN DIPLOMATS IN BENDERY FORTRESS

Heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations took part in the cultural event Peace for the Sake of Future at the invitation of the leadership of Pridnestrovie

Tiraspol, June, 4. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Alexander Nevsky Park of Bendery Fortress became the place for an informal meeting of ambassadors of Russia, EU countries, and also representatives of international organizations. Leadership of Pridnestrovie invited them to the social and cultural event Peace for the Sake of Future.

Guests were greeted by the President Vadim Krasnoselsky and his wife, as well as the leadership of the Government, the Supreme Council, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Representatives of one and a half dozen countries took part in it. Many of them noted that Pridnestrovie seemed to be created for such events: the republic is home to 72 nationalities, where linguistic diversity is welcomed and cultural traditions are preserved.

“By our work, creativity, history, attitude to life, we form the image of Pridnestrovie. We are proud of all that we have. The language of diplomacy, culture, respect is understood by everyone, and today's event serves as proof of that,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev stressed.

The event, which started in one of the halls of the new tourist complex, opened the concert of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic led by the National Artist of the PMR Grigory Moseyko. The program included works by authors representing the world of musical art from different countries. The foreign guests enjoyed the performance of the orchestra, which lasted about an hour.

“A delightful performance, talented musicians. I'm fascinated. I`ve never heard your orchestra before,” the Slovak ambassador to Moldova Dusan Dakho shared his impressions with journalists.

The diplomat noted that he often visited Pridnestrovie and in recent years, much in the republic was unrecognizable. For example, the territory of the Bendery fortress. Today, representatives of diplomatic missions had the opportunity to take a turn around the territory of the historical complex and learn the history of this unique object from a historical point of view.

“I came here in the summer of 2017 when they had just been building up the Park of Alexander Nevsky, and then in October I visited the Bendery fortress and did not recognize it, everything was arranged so well. Since then, every time I come, something new appears,” Dusan Dakho said.

Another creative component of the social and cultural event Peace for the Sake of Future is a performance by the Pridnestrovian State Choir under the direction of Tatyana Tverdokhleb. Vocalists performed several works under the arches of Alexander Nevsky Church.

In the intervals between the programs, one could observe how the ambassadors shared their impressions. We asked the Poland Ambassador Bartlomiej Zdanyuk to share his opinion.

He noted that Pridnestrovie was becoming more beautiful every year, and the ties between the two republics were getting stronger.

“We need to know more about each other and strengthen ties at the diplomatic, academic and cultural level. The time when the borders are closed has passed. This is a dead end. On the contrary, it is necessary to know each other better, to be proficient in many languages, to understand each other`s thinking - this is the future,” the Ambassador of Poland said.
Building up an Alley of Peace on the territory of Alexander Nevsky Park was the final point of the event.
