MORE THAN TWO THOUSAND MONUMENTS OF HISTORY AND CULTURE WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE NEW PUBLIC REGISTER

The draft law On the Unified Public Register of Immovable Heritage of History and Culture was recommended for adoption on second reading

Tiraspol, April, 8. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Deputies of the Supreme Council Committee for Education, Science and Culture discussed the amendments to the second reading of the draft law On the Unified Public Register of Immovable Heritage of History and Culture. The list includes more than two thousand objects in need of the State`s protection. Among them there are a monument to the Aviator Soldiers in Tiraspol, the Triumphal Arch in Bendery, an obelisk of Military Glory on the Kitskany bridgehead, and a number of other objects.  

The parliamentary press service reminded that at that moment that area was regulated by a resolution of the Supreme Council of 2002. Specialists of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage conducted a historical and cultural examination. They found that the current registry was outdated. The new document is intended to become the basis for the registration, protection, restoration of historical and cultural monuments. 

The deputies of the relevant committee didn`t ignore the fate of Grigory Kotovsky Military History Museum in Tiraspol. The building of the unique museum is in need of repair. According to parliamentarians, the most significant historical landmark of the Pridnestrovian capital should be under special protection of the State. The museum will also be listed in the register. 

The members of the committee noted that in the mode of preparing the document for the second reading a large amount of work was carried out to clarify the addresses of the objects of historical and cultural heritage locations, their owners and categories. Amendments on 231 sheets were prepared. 

The draft law On the Unified Public Register of Immovable Heritage of History and Culture was recommended for adoption on second reading.
