PRIDNESTROVIAN ROWER KIRILL SHAMSHURIN TOOK GOLD MEDAL IN KRASNODAR

The athlete became the champion of Russia in canoeing at a distance of 2000 meters

Tiraspol, April, 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. National of Pridnestrovie, Kirill Shamshurin became the champion of Russia in canoeing, outperforming his closest competitor by 10 seconds. This is this season first gold medal for the rower.

The tournament is being held in Krasnodar from March 31 to April 4, and is a qualifying for candidates for the Russian national team, according to the website of the PMR State Service for Sports.

The championship of Russia at a distance of 2000 meters was held on April 1. Its members competed in one-man boats. According to the conditions of the competition, the rowers started separately with an interval of one minute, as a result, the time of the distance covering of each one was taken into account individually.

Oleg Shurinkin took the tenth final place, while Vladislav Chebotar was not so successful in the first start of the season: he closed the list of the twenty strongest Russian athletes in the two-kilometer distance.

Among canoeists, Pridnestrovian athletes showed the following results: Vasily Pogreban took the fifth place, Ivan Epishin - the twelfth place, Ivan Smoly – the thirtieth place. In the women's kayak race, Zoya Manaeva took the fifth place.

In the coming days, as part of the all-Russian competitions, athletes will have starts in one-man boats at 200, 500 and 100 meters.
