Tiraspol, March, 29. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. On March 23-24 in Chisinau, there was held an open WAKO kickboxing cup. The Pridnestrovian team participated in it, competing under the flag of the Dynamo sports society.
Competitions were held in two types of programs: in the section K-1, which is considered to be the main one, and in the section "Kick Light", according to the PMR State Service for Sports.
Trainees of the Tiraspol Kickboxing Academy were the best. They won five gold medals: Artem Slav (weight category up to 38 kg), Denis Kovalchuk (40 kg), Vladimir Sokolov (51 kg), Vladislav Malkov (54 kg), Vadim Ignatov (57 kg).
In addition, Alexander Serzhenko (34 kg) took the second place, losing only in the final match, while Denis Makalich (42 kg), Vasily Fedoseyev (45 kg) and Vladimir Vnodchenko (51 kg) were the bronze medal winners.
Trainees of Tiraspol sports clubs were also remarkable. Alexander Petrov (30 kg) and Gleb Epifanov (42 kg) from Color Fit SC took the first places. Victor Beku (Krasnaya Zvezda SC, 57 kg) won a silver medal. Sport club Boets got 4 medals: 2 silver ones (Vladimir Karaman, 75 kg, and Vladislav Kristov, 63.5 kg) and 2 bronze ones (Alexander Muranov, 63 kg, and Leonid Tkachenko, 63.5 kg).
Good results were shown by the trainees of the sports club Ataman from the city of Dubossary. They received 9 awards. The silver medal was won by Sofia Seu (35 kg), while Yuri Vovnenko (75 kg), Vladimir Rudinsky (53 kg), Igor Popov (29 kg), Sergey Turturik (27 kg), Daniil Cholan (24 kg), Konstantin Cornoval (21 kg), Denis Tar (23 kg) and Olga Tar (42 kg) won the bronze.
Athletes from Rybnitsa won five medals. Kirill Saprygin (28 kg) took the first place. Sofia Kostiuk (28 kg) and Timur Parfentiev (45 kg) won two silver medals, while Yegor Kazak (22 kg) and Dmitry Wenger (36 kg) won bronze ones.
At the end of April, it is planned to open Moldova WAKO Kickboxing Championship by the specialized federation of Moldova.
