Tiraspol, March, 26. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. March 23-24, the traditional kickboxing tournament WAKO Balkan Open 2019 was held in the Bosnian city of Teshan, in which athletes from 15 countries took part.
Our team was formed under the flag of the National Kickboxing and Muay Thai Pridnestrovie Federation and won 9 medals of various denominations.
According to the PMR State Service for Sports, in the Low Kick competition section Mikhail Antoha took the first place, who won in two fights. His team-mate Anton Kolesnik only lost in the decisive fight and won the silver medal.
In the Kick Light section, our athletes Ivan Derkachenko and Viktor Ivanov won two medals of the highest standard. At the same time, Viktor Ivanov was awarded a separate cup as the most technical fighter of his age. Two bronze medals were added to the team box by Anton Kolesnik and Sergey Minzarar.
Three more awards were won in the competition section Light Contact. The winners of the tournament were Viktor Ivanov and Ivan Derkachenko, these were the second gold medals in this tournament for both athletes. Katalin Samsonov finished the competition being in the second place.
The successful performance in Bosnia and Herzegovina was the result of hard and intense training of Pridnestrovian athletes, led by a team of mentors under the guidance of the Honored coach of the PMR, Ivan Derkachenko.
