Bendery, March, 21. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At today's meeting, the Joint Control Commission heard information about the situation in the Security Zone over the past week. However, the document was never adopted.
According to Oleg Belyakov, the JCC co-chairman from Pridnestrovie, this is linked to the violations that took place. In particular, the Moldovan side placed the police post between the settlements of Bendery and Varnitsa.
“The police of the Republic of Moldova placed the post a cross of Maslov and Leningradskaya streets and began to interrogate citizens there. The delegation of Pridnestrovie demanded the departure of military observers. By the time they arrived, the police were gone, but act had in fact been committed. The Pridnestrovian side has photos and clarifications of people that this post actually worked in the city of Bendery. This is the matter of concern,” Oleg Belyakov commented on the incident.
At the same time, representatives of Chisinau installed an additional terminal for the police on the right side of the Dubossary Hydroelectric Station dam.
“We know that within the framework of the JCC, these issues are very clearly monitored and should be carried out under the control of military observers for the establishment of certain fortifications or elements of the sides` confrontation. Nevertheless, we note that the Moldovan side did it unilaterally. And there were no military observers,” the co-chairman added.
Also during the meeting, an organizational question was considered and supplements were made to instructions for military observers.
“The Pridnestrovian side raised questions about monitoring posts, hearing information about law enforcement agencies. Within the framework of the JCC these questions were received with understanding. We hope that in the near future we will return to them, of course, we will visit peacekeeping posts and hear information from the JOIU leaders,” Belyakov concluded.
