The PMR President met with the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova

The main topic of conversation during the meeting of Vadim Krasnoselsky with Dereck Hogan is the prospects for the continuation of the negotiation process in the “5 + 2” format after the parliamentary elections in Moldova. The PMR President emphasized that Pridnestrovie is interested in the development of the political situation in the neighboring state from the point of view of building further dialogue. The President of Pridnestrovie noted that negotiations in the “5 + 2” format at the level of political representatives have not yet been conducted in connection with the parliamentary elections and political representative from Moldova has not yet been appointed. Today, there are expert groups, but these are technical specialists. The PMR President emphasized interest in the final decisions, the implementation of previously reached agreements and the signing of new protocol decisions.

Dereck Hogan thanked Vadim Krasnoselsky for the meeting and said that it is important for the US Embassy to maintain good contacts with Pridnestrovie. The Ambassador noted that the appointment of a new political representative from the Republic of Moldova depends entirely on the democratic processes taking place in the neighboring state.

Participants in the course of the meeting discussed in more detail the current situation in the negotiation process and prospects for the work of the “5 + 2” format. They discussed bilateral relations between Pridnestrovie and the United States and interaction with the American embassy.
