Tiraspol, March, 7. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Professor of the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University, the doctor of jurisprudence Vlada Lysenko made the report on investment activities in Pridnestrovie. The international conference «Role of the International Investment Law during Armed Conflicts and Its Application in «disputed territories» took place on March 1-2 in Ruhr University, Bochum (Germany).
The conference brought together leading experts – lawyers of the European higher education institutions for the purpose of exchange of views on a number of topical legal issues.
Discussion of the implementation of norms of the international investment law taking into account its interrelation with the international public and humanitarian law became the main objective of a conference. Discussion of the investment right concerning armed conflicts and disputed territories, the interrelation of the investment right with maritime law, the right in the field of human rights and the domestic legislation of some states became one of the subjects. Special attention was paid to disputable sea zones.
The European jurists drew conclusions that investment contracts and settlement of investment disputes cannot solve global problems of war and peace and also delimitation of the states. They can solve only concrete disputes between the state and investors.
Foreign investments are the leading instrument of developing the world and national economic systems and also an integration tool of businessmen in the system of international managing. Without giving to disputes of a political character, investment arbitration tribunals have to promote the strengthening of positions of natural persons.
Let's note, Vlada Lysenko presented the presentation together with the director of Research Institution of the Economic Right and a Labor Law and also the Head of the Law Department of the School of a Socio-economics of the Hamburg University Carsten Nowrot who was among the speakers of the Pridnestrovian Investment Economic Forum (October, 2018).
