THE FOREIGN MINISTER SPOKE ABOUT THE PROSPECTS OF NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN PMR AND MOLDOVA

The task before diplomats is to strengthen the mechanism for agreements implementation

Tiraspol, February, 19. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Vitaly Ignatiev, Pridnestrovian Foreign Minister, spoke about the prospects of the negotiations between Tiraspol and Chisinau in an interview with the First Pridnestrovian TV channel. According to him, dozens of problems in relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova remain unsolved. They mainly concern the social, economic or humanitarian spheres. Issues of telecommunications and politically motivated criminal cases are still urgent.

There is also progress, for example, neutral numbers are being issued, and apostille service of diplomas issued by PMR higher education institutions is being carried out. Land problems in the Dubossary district and schools with teaching on the Latin script are solved.

“Pridnestrovie has never refused to discuss various issues, if this dialogue is substantive, if there is a specific agenda, specific proposals and readiness to move forward. I absolutely do not see the readiness of the Moldovan side to discuss more serious issues” - Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev said.

In 2016, Moldova unilaterally introduced a ban on the supply of fuel and lubricants through the Rybnitsa-Slobodka checkpoint. This violates the agreement, so Pridnestrovie and Ukraine suffer losses due to inconvenient logistics. This problem remains unsolved.

“Different excuses and reasons are being made. The essence is the same - there is no political will. If simple issues cannot be solved, then, of course, not a single careful hostess will touch the baskets without first washing the first one that is open. It's clear to everyone. In the framework of the negotiation process, we also work with the basket that is open and there are questions” - Vitaly Ignatiev said.

Last year, 5 new agreements were signed between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. Now before diplomats there is the task of securing the mechanism for implementing the agreements. So that everything that falls on paper is applied as a matter of practice and makes things easier for people.
