Tiraspol, February, 18. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian javelin throwers took part in the Bogatyr throwing tournament. All-Russian competitions among men and women were held in Adler.
20-year-old trainee of the Tiraspol sports school No. 2 Nikolay Orlov performed among men and was one of three winners, along with masters of sports of international class. He placed third with a score of 74 m 6 cm.
It should be noted that last year Orlov played in youth competitions, including the world championship in Finland, for athletes below the age of 20, and in 2019 he moved to the category of athletes younger than 23 years.
At the moment, the athlete is waiting for a decision from the International Association of Athletics Federations on granting him a neutral status.
A native of Tiraspol, and now a resident of Krasnodar Dmitry Tarabin placed second. His apparatus landed at 80 m 6 cm. This time, many-time champion of Russia, Dmitry Tarabin gave way to Vladislav Panasenkov, who overthrew a javelin by 1 meter.
The first mentor of Tiraspol sportsmen is the Honored coach of the PMR Alexander Moiseenko. He is now at a training camp in Russia together with young promising javelin throwers.
Russian athletes may only compete in official international competitions under a neutral flag.
