Tiraspol, February, 15. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today in the Palace of the Republic there took place the first Candlemass day ball of the Orthodox youth. The dancing era of the 18-19th centuries was shown by the club of reconstruction of the historical dance «Vernisazh» and also pupils of Suvorov Military School and Children's School of Arts, students of the SPSU and the Bendery Medical College.

The Candlemass day ball took place in the capital for the first time. Earlier the dancing programs were represented in Bendery. Creation of the atmosphere of balls of the 18th and 19th centuries became a main objective of the action. Young people in black dress coats and tuxedos, and girls in magnificent multi-coloured dresses, gloves and with a fan in hands.

All 12 presented dances were learned in only one and a half weeks. Young people with pleasure plunged into the culture of those times, were interested in etiquette and history. They not only studied figures of dances but also learned through them history – ball etiquette of that time, a communication manner, suits and hairstyles.

«The ball is not an indicative concert. Everyone danced at the balls. Reconstruction is, first of all, a studying of history. Look at the suits sewed under an era of that time! It is history too», - the Head of the club of reconstruction of the historical dance «Vernisazh» Marina Litvin notes.

Organizers do not plan to stop only on the Candlemas-day ball. The Vernisazh club hopes that it will be able to show the dancing talents not only in Pridnestrovie and Moldova but also in Russia where similar balls are an obligatory part of the life of the youth.
