Tiraspol, January, 30. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant turned 34. It was January 30, 1985 when the order for its launch was signed.
MMP has long made a name for itself. Pridnestrovian steel, for example, was used in the repair of the Ostankino TV tower in Moscow. And the list of unique facts about the plant goes on.
“Automobile tires and tubes, which are used on Formula 1, roughly speaking, is the well-known fact. The tires have a metal cord, and it is made of wire rod. We participated in the construction of the Olympic Sochi, meaning, we supplied reinforcement there” - the General Director of the MMP Sergey Kornev told the First Pridnestrovian TV channel.
The plant is now working despite the sanctions.
“There is trust in the markets, both in raw materials markets and in sales markets. And this, you know, is such a work in the whole state, the Government, the bank, which allocates credit resources for the work of the plant, and directly the staff. We will strive to ensure that this production year was better than the 2018th. We will strive for this, although we are setting the numbers, which, as I said, are pessimistic” - the head of the company explained.
In January, the plant stopped only for scheduled repairs. A large-scale modernization is ongoing at the MMP. Metallurgists celebrate their holiday "at the machine".
More than one generation of metallurgists was brought up at the plant for 34 years. Since last year, the dual system was performed. Future specialists will begin their practice right at the enterprise in September.
