Tiraspol, January, 9. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Anna Varyokha won the qualifying tournament, becoming the winner of the Moldova Championship among athletes under 13 years of age.
Competitions were held in Balti with the participation of players from 13 teams. The strongest were determined in four age groups among boys and girls: up to 7, up to 9, up to 11 and up to 13 years.
Each player had 1 hour for the game. Pridnestrovie was represented by chess players from Tiraspol and Bendery.
Pupil of the Tiraspol sports school №3 Anna Varyokha, competing in the group of athletes under 13, showed a confident and competent game. She won all the games, scoring 9 points out of 9 possible. Victory in the national championship gives the right to compete at the European Championship among schoolchildren. The tournament will be held at the end of May in the Romanian city of Mamaia.
In addition, Anna Varyokha will compete in the final of the Moldova Women's Chess Championship. The tournament will be held in early February in Chisinau.
Anna Varyokha is the first chess player from Tiraspol, who managed to get into the highest league of the Moldavian Championship over the past 10 years.
