Tiraspol, December, 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Tirotex factory celebrates its 45th anniversary. A grand meeting was attended by the leadership of the republic. During the meeting participants remembered how in 1971 in the open field on the outskirts of Tiraspol they began to create a new enterprise.
“Why did the USSR State Planning Committee decide to build Tirotex here? Because there was high unemployment, and employment of people was at a very low level. From an economic, engineering point of view, it is not profitable to create an enterprise where there is no cotton and many other components, but even then they thought about production in social terms” - the first president of the republic Igor Smirnov said.
The first stage of spinning production was handed in in two years. Everything else was completed simultaneously with the release of finished products. At the meeting they noted: the most difficult time was at the beginning of the 90s, when former trade relations broke and the enterprise almost stopped.
After the restructuring in 2005 began a major modernization. Since then, the new owner has invested more than 180 million dollars. Full renewal of the spinning-weaving, finishing and sewing production equipment park allowed us to master the newest technologies.
“Due to the significant increase in demand for finished garments, the investor decided to expand sewing production possibilities. Already today, areas have been prepared for the installation of new equipment - an automated sewing line with the possibility of sewing chips into textiles. Next year, this line will be put into operation, which will allow us to increase the output of finished garments by 350-400 thousand meters” - Andrei Mezhinsky, general director of Tirotex CJSC, said.
Every year the company develops more than 100 new articles of fabric, thousands of new designs and hundreds of new colors come out of the finishing production. New technologies of digital printing, antibacterial coatings, health improving impregnations were mastered. Now products labeled "Tirotex" are known in 37 countries of the world.
“We can safely say that Tirotex is the flagship of the textile industry of the entire European continent, because there are no similar industries in the Russian Federation or the EU. Just think about it - there is such industry in the unrecognized Pridnestrovie, and in such giants there is no such thing. This is a victory not only for the team, but also for the investor, who once believed in the company, having invested hundreds of millions of dollars in production. These components largely reflect the content of our state Development Strategy until 2026 in terms of economic security and social justice” - Pridnestrovie President Vadim Krasnoselski said, while congratulating the team.
Tirotex company is not only significant contribution to our state economy development, but also to the formation of investment attractiveness. Where are we taking investors first to show the power of Pridnestrovian economy and development success? Of course, to Tirotex, in order to make an impression on the whole republic as a result of the work of your enterprise” - Alexander Martynov, Chairman of the Government added.
To mark the holiday, the best workers were awarded state awards, separately noted those who have worked since the company was founded - exactly 45 years.
