Tiraspol, December, 12. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie received 540 textbooks for pupils of correctional schools as a gift from Russia. Books were presented to the Ministry of Education during an expanded meeting of the coordination council of Pridnestrovie Russian Communities Union by representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo.
“These are adapted textbooks for children with special developmental needs, those who suffer from speech disorders, hearing impaired children, and mentally subnormal children. This is the kind of books that is so necessary for learning” - Education Minister, Tatyana Loginova said.
There was summed up the yearly work of the Union at the meeting. Organization's Chairman, Viorika Kokhtareva, spoke about the areas of work, including both traditional commemorative events and assistance to veterans, support in improving children’s health, scholarships for university students and others. Speaking about the issues that concern many of those who turn to Russian communities, she noted concern about the increasing calls for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Pridnestrovie and the restriction of movement freedom of Russians arriving in our republic through Chisinau airport.
This year, Pridnestrovie Union of Russian Communities launched a new project - TV project “Russian Pridnestrovie”. A series of programs about veterans of the Great Patriotic War are among the future plans of the project.
Organization also plans to develop sports projects and those that promote a healthy lifestyle. In the very near future, the youth media center Infopost will become fully operational. It will be an open club, which includes professional, educational and discussion platform for young people.
“In addition, in Pridnestrovie, that about 200 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation and even more Russian compatriots live in, the need to open their legal center is long overdue. Of course, we are trying to help, answer all the questions that arise, but often our people need professional, comprehensive legal and other support. We have already sent an application to the Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad” - Viorika Kokhtareva, Chairman of Pridnestrovie Union of Russian Communities said.
The current meeting was held on the day of the 25th anniversary of the Russian Constitution adoption. Senior Counselor of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova Nadezhda Kalinina, congratulated all the participants on this event, and also presented a number of certificates for their active participation in preserving and promoting Russian culture and education.
“The Russian community does a great job across Pridnestrovie with the widest audience inclusion. We have always supported your initiatives and will continue this practice. We expect to expand our presence here with you. I am sure that opening of a contact center for cooperation with Rossotrudnichestvo on the basis of the PSU will significantly improve our opportunities for cooperation with you” - Mikhail Davydov, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Moldova added.
