LAVROV: THE PARTICIPANTS OF "5+2" NEGOTIATION FORMAT READY TO CONTINUE THEIR WORK

According to the Russia Foreign Minister, OSCE Foreign Ministers Council adopted a statement on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement

The statement on the settlement of the Moldova-Pridnestrovian conflict adopted at the OSCE Foreign Ministers Council did not become a breakthrough, but it records the readiness to continue searching for ways to solve it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a final press conference in Milan.

Earlier, OSCE Special Representative for Pridnestrovie Franco Frattini stated that important results were achieved in the negotiations to resolve the conflict in 2018, and this refers to "specific things that people can really feel in their daily lives."

Franco Frattini also noted Russia's great contribution to achieving concrete results in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement. As an example, the Italian diplomat cited a problem related to the international movement of vehicles registered in Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

"Moscow has said clearly: "We agree with this project. And only after that we reached an agreement with both Ukraine and the two parties to the conflict” - Frattini told RIA Novosti.

Moldova and Pridnestrovie as parties to the conflict, Russia, Ukraine, OSCE - as mediators, the European Union and the USA - as observers participate in international negotiations in the “5+2” format. The last time negotiations in such format took place on May 29-30 in Rome.
