Tiraspol, December, 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Press Service of the Head of the State reports, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky met the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA in RM Derek Hogan and the Adviser for Political Affairs of the American Embassy in Moldova Charles Vetter.
Greeting the guests, the Head of the PMR noted the constructibility of the bilateral relations. Vadim Krasnoselsky mentioned the joint Pridnestrovian-American projects implemented in the cultural and educational sectors. The President of the PMR marked that the Pridnestrovians show interest in history, traditions and culture of various countries and the people. The most popular, for example, is the Week of the American Cinema with mainly classical works by the American cinematographers within, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted.
The President also spoke about the system of English language teaching in educational institutions of the Republic. Its improvement depends on the support of native speakers. Vadim Krasnoselsky paid attention to the development of the Center of the American culture at the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University.
The question of the USA participation in the 5+2 format was mentioned as the United States are the observer in the negotiation process.
«We appreciate your opinion. We all are the participants of the 5+2 format, and on our words and guarantees, the execution of the reached agreements depends. This is really important. But the arrangements should be confirmed with actions. It is our general goal», – Vadim Krasnoselsky noted.
Derek Hogan told that he visits Tiraspol for the first time, but he expects the active interaction between the U.S. Embassy and the PMR to be continued. He mentioned that the dialogue with the MFA of the PMR is established. According to the diplomat, the presence of the negotiator from the USA George Kent on the meeting with the President of the PMR is really important. Speaking about the delegation visit purpose, Derek Hogan noted that he wants to learn about the pridnestrovian position on a number of topical issues.
Participants of a meeting discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including implementation of cultural and humanitarian projects in the territory of Pridnestrovie; exchanged views on topical issues of the negotiation agenda and agreed to continue the active interaction.
