Tiraspol, December, 3. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian delegation headed by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselski is on a working visit in Moscow.
Today, at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Vadim Krasnoselski met with the State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Grigory Karasin. As specifies the President of PMR press service, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev, the Director of CIS Countries Second Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Andrei Rudenko, and his Deputy, Vitaly Tryapitsyn, also took part in the meeting.
In the course of a dialogue, parties exchanged views on the entire spectrum of topical issues related to the current situation in the negotiation process, security environment and development of bilateral Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation.
Discussing the current nature of the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, participants reaffirmed the importance of the practical implementation of the agreements reached, noting that the implementation of previous decisions directly affects the dynamics and effectiveness of the negotiation process. Vadim Krasnoselski noted that from the Moldovan party Pridnestrovie expects tangible progress on the issues of telecommunications and politically motivated criminal cases.
In addition, the meeting participants spoke about the prospects for the work of the international negotiating format “Permanent Conference ...” in 2019 in the context of the upcoming Slovakia’s chairmanship in the OSCE. Special attention was paid to the current situation around Pridnestrovie. Vadim Krasnoselski noted that the security environment remains difficult, and the republic continues to closely monitor the dynamics of processes in neighboring states. He stressed the decisive role of the peacekeeping operation under the aegis of Russia in maintaining peace and security in Pridnestrovie, and reaffirmed the readiness of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic to give full support to the current mission format.
Along with this, Pridnestrovian side drew attention to the continuing challenges to the economic security of Pridnestrovie due to the implementation of a joint customs and border control project on the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border by Moldova and Ukraine.
Another topic of the meeting is development of bilateral cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Russian Federation in various areas. The interlocutors exchanged views on specific mechanisms for enhancing contacts in the political and diplomatic sphere, as well as on the development of economic, social and humanitarian cooperation. There were also discussed the parameters for the practical implementation of a number of collaborative initiatives.
At the end of discussion, the parties expressed their readiness to maintain the existing friendly contacts and confirmed the openness to bilateral cooperation on the whole range of topical issues.
