Citizen helped to obtain passport, pension

The ombudsman has helped a citizen who wished to return to Pridnestrovie solve her problem

Tiraspol, 13 July. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Office of the Human Rights Commissioner received an appeal from Citizen Y., who lives in Tiraspol, regarding his sister, a citizen of M., born in 1952, on the issue of documentation and pension provision in Pridnestrovie.

It becomes clear from the appeal that a woman was registered in Andriyashevka village, Slobodzeya District, in 1981-1997. In 1997, with the passport of a USSR citizen, she cancelled her registration and moved to Ukraine. She did not obtain Ukrainian citizenship and worked unofficially.

In 2017, at the insistence of her brother, she decided to return to Pridnestrovie. Having the Soviet passport only, she appeared to have illegally crossed the border. She currently resides in Tiraspol with her brother.

Thanks to the assistance of the Pridnestrovian ombudsman, Vyacheslav Kosinsky, she has received a five-year registration at the place of residence and the Pridnestrovian passport. Her pension provision issue has been solved as well.
