Bendery, 29 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Last week, a delegation of Bendery visited the Russian city of Yaroslavl on a friendly visit. The delegation took part in the celebration of the city's 1008th anniversary of the founding of the city and agreed on further cooperation with local authorities, the press service of the Bendery State Administration reports.
"Yaroslavl is the pearl of the Golden Ring of Russia, its capital. We visited many objects, festive grounds, cultural centres. We established friendly and working relations with Yaroslavl residents, invited them to take part in the celebration of the 610th anniversary of our city and laid the groundwork for Bendery and Yaroslavl to become twin cities in the near future," said Andrey Diordiev, deputy head of the State Administration of Bendery on architecture and urbanism.
The delegation also signed an act to join the agreement on multilateral cooperation between hero cities and cities of military glory in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Abkhazia. Now the city of Bendery is a full member of this association.
Bendery was awarded the honorary title "City of Military Glory" in 2012 by presidential decree. In 2015, the "City of Military Glory" stela was installed in Bendery.
