President discusses with Russian ambassador forthcoming '5 +2' meeting in Rome

According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, the main aspect of the discussion will be the implementation of the agreements reached between Pridnestrovie and Moldova

Tiraspol, 15 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. To discuss the agreements and prospects for the negotiation process in the "5 +2" format was the purpose of President Krasnoselsky's meeting with Russia's ambassador at large Sergey Gubarev.

Agreements to be implemented

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that Pridnestrovie highly appreciates Russia's attention. The president called Sergey Gubarev's personal participation in the negotiating process significant and effective. Of particular importance, according to Krasnoselsky, is the Russian ambassador's visit to the country ahead of the forthcoming "Permanent Conference..." meeting in the "5+2" format in Rome. The meeting will be held from 29 to 30 May.

Speaking about the current format of the negotiation process, the president called it a serious venue that gives participants the opportunity to voice their position, argue and develop practical solutions. As for the May meeting in Rome, the main aspects of the discussion will be the recent agreements, the process of their implementation and the prospects for building further dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, Vadim Krasnoselsky told the Russian ambassador.

Sergey Gubarev, in turn, noted as a positive moment Pridnestrovie-Russia regular interaction, as well as frequent bilateral meetings. The ambassador also confirmed the importance of today's discussion, during which the interlocutors will be able to discuss topical issues related to the upcoming official meeting in the "5 + 2" format.

The ambassador highly appreciated the practical results achieved during the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova in recent months. Sergei Gubarev particularly dwelled on the mechanism of participation of Pridnestrovian motor transport in the international road traffic, noting the very operational nature of reaching a solution to this complex problem.

"The main task now is to smoothly implement what looks so nice on paper, as was the case with school and land-use issues," said the Russian diplomat, assuring that Russian colleagues are ready to continue supporting the implementation of positive achievements and initiatives.

During the meeting the interlocutors also discussed other topical issues on the agenda of bilateral interaction, paying special attention to Pridnestrovie-Russia cooperation in various spheres, the president's press service reports.
