Bender, April 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The meeting between the Pridnestrovie's and Moldova's presidents has been held in the city hall of Bendery today. Following its results Vadim Krasnoselsky and Igor Dodon have delivered the statements, the Pridnestrovie's Presidential Press Service reports.
One of the main topics of the meeting agenda has been the peacemaking.
The president of Moldova has reaffirmed his stance on the peacekeeping mission effectiveness and noted that all involved sides carry out their commitments.
"I think that this mission should be continued, and it is not appropriate to bring up ideas of its termination. The peacekeeping mission has provided stability both on the left and right banks of the Dniester, and we have to accept and appreciate it," the President of Moldova has explained.
In turn, the Pridnestrovie's President Vadim Krasnoselsky has emphasized that nobody has been killed as a result of warfare in Pridnestrovie during more than a quarter-century.
"I am sure that we have deserved peace in our land, and the peacemaking – to be researched and practised in the other conflict zones and not to be abandoned. However, there is a big discussion on the Operative Group of the Russian Forces. Historically, Pridnestrovie takes the OGRF as a peacemaking component," Vadim Krasnoselsky has noted.
As for other topics, the President of the PMR has expressed confidence that the compromises which have been reached on many issues of the agenda are a general success and an obvious breakthrough.
"I am grateful to everyone who has participated in the negotiations and has contributed to achievement of a compromise. It is a good example for the territories with some kind of disconcertment or tension between the people. Meetings have to be held. We have built a dialogue with the Government of the Republic of Moldova through the political representatives, we also talk with the President of Moldova. I think that there will be only positive moments," the head of Pridnestrovie has concluded.
The President of the RM has also expressed hope that the next meeting will take place in Chisinau in several months.
