Tiraspol, 28 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky talked to Spanish journalist Oscar Vaello. A Barcelona lawyer, travelling publicist, freelance journalist, whose materials can be found on the pages of various publications, Oscar Vaello has already written about Pridnestrovie for "National Geographic". At the beginning of this year, he acted as a kind of guide, making a list of places that are worth visiting, the president's press service reports.
Today the Spaniard met President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The interview was more like a casual conversation between two interested people: no formalism, an equal dialogue, an exchange of opinions. The conversation began with the guest's offer to drop without any doubt inconvenient questions if necessary. The president recalled the inviolability of the principle to which he adheres: there are no inconvenient questions.
The journalist asked about the concept of building relations with Moldova, Pridnestrovie's economic potential, migration policy, relations with Russia. The interlocutors discussed the current Spanish-Catalan situation and the possibility of its projection on Pridnestrovie. Vadim Krasnoselsky is sure that direct comparisons are absolutely inappropriate: Catalonia is part of an integral state, and Pridnestrovie appeared after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The second aspect, the president points out, is Pridnestrovie's independence, confirmed by the people's will, against the backdrop of the emerging struggle for it by part of the Catalan people. Another important point is that Spain has never rejected Catalonia, as did Moldova in relation to Pridnestrovie. Answering a question about the admissibility of recognizing the independence of Catalonia, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the importance of two factors - the opinion of the people and the historical and legal grounds. The interlocutors also recalled other examples of the division, or, on the contrary, the unification of territories, analyzing the prerequisites and consequences of adopting certain decisions.
As an experienced traveller, Oscar Vaello noted very scarce coverage of Pridnestrovie's life on the Intenet. According to him, personal impressions are no substitute for those faded and vague pictures that can be found on the web. Vadim Krasnoselsky told the guest that work was being done in this area. The dedicated state agency was given corresponding instructions and clear recommendations aimed at withdrawing the country from the information vacuum and radically changing the attitude of potential tourists to Pridnestrovie.
Another practical question the journalist asked was related to how easy it is to open a business in Pridnestrovie. The interlocutors talked about attracting investors and discussed real stories about foreign entrepreneurs who explored the Pridnestrovian economy.
Finishing the dialogue, Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to the interlocutor for his attention to the country and desire to discover it for foreigners, presenting it in the true light. As a memento and, probably, as visual material, the president presented photo albums about Pridnestrovie to the Spanish guest.
