Tiraspol, 6 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) held a meeting with a French delegation, led by president of the CCI France-Moldova Emmanuel Skoulios and deputy director of the French Alliance of Moldova Adrian Cibotaru.
French entrepreneurs Gerard Staedel and Jacques Schlief represented Alsace. The CCI's presss service notes that this French region produces about 3% of GDP and ranks second among the country's regions in terms of GDP per capita, second only to Ile-de-France. With 68% of jobs concentrated in services and 25% in industry, Alsace is one of the most industrialised regions. The region maintains close economic ties with other countries. Over 35% of local firms are owned by foreign companies mainly from Germany, Switzerland, the USA, Japan and Scandinavia.
The French guests were interested in the industrial potential of Pridnestrovian companies. For the purpose of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Alsace region and Pridnestrovie, the entrepreneurs visited the garment factories "Intercentre Lux" and "Odema", as well as the sturgeon complex "Aquatir", where they noted the high level of professionalism of employees and highly appreciated the products.
The CCI hopes that this meeting will serve as a starting point for the development of bilateral trade and economic relations between Pridnestrovie and Alsace, as well as with France as a whole.
