At the same time, we always proceed from the primacy of observance and protection of human rights and freedoms. All people are equal, whatever values they may profess. I hope that consistent work in the diplomatic field will allow us to sort the wheat from the chaff, " said the Supreme Council's speaker, Alexander Shcherba.

As the American diplomat noted, the main thing for the US is to improve the life of citizens regardless of their place of residence.

"And this is impossible without improving the economy. Our focus is on the human factor, good relations between people," said James Pettit.

The sides also touched upon various aspects of Pridnestrovie's life, the progress of the negotiation process and the guarantee mechanisms for implementing the agreements reached by the parties.

"We are open to dialogue; we understand that nothing can replace negotiations. That's why it is important to hold such meetings with representatives of the guarantor countries, mediators and observers of the negotiation process in the '5 +2' format. In their course it is possible to bring the position, the point of view of the country's leadership on certain processes to the international participants. Along with the president, the Supreme Council has reaffirmed our [country's] long-standing position that any agreement between Tiraspol and KIshinev should be achieved at the negotiating table at the bilateral level. The guarantor countries should more actively use the mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the previous agreements and arbitration," noted Alexander Shcherba.
