Vitaly Ignatyev meets UK ambassador Lucy Joyce

During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation

Tiraspol, 12 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian foreign minister Vitaly Ignatyev held a meeting with UK ambassador to Moldova Lucy Joyce.

The interlocutors discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation, the MFA's press service reports. They paid considerable attention to some aspects of the implementation by the British Embassy of relevant projects aimed at improving the welfare of Pridnestrovians.

"We are grateful for the continued interest of the British side in interacting with Pridnestrovie in the social and humanitarian sphere. Several projects, the brightest and most promising of which was support in the sphere of fire security, have been implemented with the assistance of the UK embassy. We hope that constructive work in this direction will continue," said Vitaly Ignatiev.

The parties discussed the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, focusing on the implementation of agreements reached in 2017. Vitaly Ignatyev said that Pridnestrovie had taken all the necessary steps to implement the agreements in the field of the functioning of Romanian-language schools, apostille verification of university diplomas and land use in the Dubossary District. In this regard, he expressed hope that the Moldovan side would adhere to similar approaches that would maintain a positive dynamic of the dialogue.

At the end of the meeting, the diplomats agreed to maintain communication on the whole range of topical issues.
