Tiraspol, 5 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A delegation of the history department of Lomonosov Moscow State University visited Pridnestrovie on an introductory visit. The delegation was headed by Vasily Istratov, a deputy dean of the Department of History of Moscow State University.
The assembly hall of the main building of Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University (SPSU) hosted a meeting of university professors and students with the Russian guests. The chairman of the parliamentary committee on education, science and culture, Associate Professor Mikhail Burla, also took part in the meeting, the Supreme Council's press service informs.
As the SPSU rector, Stepan Beril, noted, the visit of the Russian colleagues became possible after a November meeting of President Vadim Krasnoselsky with the rector of Moscow State University. This visit is a confirmation of the long-term cooperation of the two universities. During the meeting, they talked, among other things, about the possibility for Pridnestrovian teachers to undertake further training and publish articles in Russian scientific journals.
The members of the Russian delegation, for many of whom it was the first visit to Pridnestrovie, noted the special attitude of Transnistrians to history. The Russians visited the university's museum of archeology.
At the end of the meeting, students and teachers were able to ask the members of the MSU delegation questions of concern.
