Government discusses measures of assistance to Russian Embassy in preparation of presidential elections in Pridnestrovie

Specifically, the highest body of executive power was ordered to provide rooms, transport and voting equipment for the precinct election commissions

Tiraspol, January 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During the working meeting featuring the chairperson of the Pridnestrovie's Central Electoral Commission the measures of assistance to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in preparation of Russian presidential elections were discussed in the Government.

It is a reminder that the relevant order was signed by the president Vadim Krasnoselsky on January 24.

Specifically, the Government represented by the state administrations was ordered to provide rooms, transport and voting equipment for the precinct election commissions organized by the Russian Embassy.

As the CEC chairperson Elena Gorodetskaya told, 24 polling precincts (that is two precincts greater than in previous years) would be open for the current election campaign in Pridnestrovie. Tiraspol high school No.10 and the Bendery branch of Polytechnic College of the PSU will be added to the familiar polling precincts.

Will increase also The minimum number of members of an election commission will be increased by 25 people. For example, from 16 to 26 members per commission were involved during the last State Duma elections of the Russian Federation in 2016.

"The largest number – 26 people – were working at the polling precinct in the Tkachenko Cultural Centre in Bendery where 5600 voters voted," Elena Gorodetskaya noted.

Visiting election commissions will also work.

"One of the main tasks which we have discussed today is the maximum coverage of the aged and the disabled who can vote only at home. We have asked the Embassy of the Russian Federation to let us provide the commissions with the maximum number of members so we could cover all people including those who cannot leave home and who lives in villages," Elena Gorodetskaya emphasized.

In turn, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry for State Security will provide security and public order during the elections.
