Avigdor Eskin: Pridnestrovie is a challenge for Russian politics

According to the Israeli publicist, the Russian leadership would be wise to show its priorities towards the PMR

Tiraspol, 22 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Kosovo's example shows the relevance of Pridnestrovie's recognition as an independent state, Israeli publicist Avigdor Eskin said during the international roundtable conference "The political and legal grounds for international recognition of Pridnestrovie".

"If the world has indeed recognised Kosovo on the cessation of bloodshed, it is all the more important to understand that any change in the status of Pridnestrovie is churning up the conflict," noted the expert.

Avigdor Eskin noted that no man had been killed in hostilities after 1992, which he believes is due to the country's independence.

"They have proved it in practice, which distinguishes them from the rest, whom we can discuss. There is no precedent in the world. Believe me, I have studied. They proclaimed independence, defended it and over 27 years have proved they are able to the state without bloddshed. And they govern the country better than their neighbours. This is a fact," underscored Eskin.

According to the publicist, Pridnestrovie is a challenge for Russian politics.

"The improvement of Russia's status in relation to the entire world will come as a result of internal changes, those that will contribute to the strengthening of the Russian world, Russian culture, science. Russian in a broad sense. That's what you need Pridnestrovie for, which is really an oasis of the Russian world. Perhaps, the Russian government would be wise to show its priorities towards, first of all, to its allies, the Russian world of Pridnestrovie," he concluded.
