Dmitry Rogozin welcomes '5+2' format resumption

The prospects for resuming the "5+2" format were discussed by Vadim Krasnoselsky and Dmitry Rogozin

Tiraspol, 15 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky met Russia's deputy prime minister and special presidential representative on Pridnestrovie, Dmitry Rogozin, and the deputy foreign minister Sergey Gubarev, the president's press service reports

The interlocutors spoke about the importance of the negotiating process, setting some hopes for its intensification in connection with a "Permanent Conference..." meeting scheduled for 27-28 November in Vienna.

According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, Dmitry Rogozin welcomes the resumption of the "5+2" format, believing that dialogue is necessary to address practical issues affecting the lives of ordinary citizens of Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

"Pridnestrovie is always open to dialogue. It is very important to conduct it on any platform. Our desire to find mutually acceptable solutions is systemic. We constantly try to move forward and count on reciprocal movement," underscores the president.

Issues related to Pridnestrovian-Russian relations, including the provision of humanitarian assistance to Pridnestrovie, were also raised at the Moscow meeting.

In addition, the interlocutors talked about the progress in amending the Russian law on citizenship as many Pridnestrovians born after 1992 are now restricted in the ability to obtain a Russian passport, and therefore this topic is highly relevant, Vadim Krasnoselsky pointed out.

Among other issues discussed at the meeting was the possibility of using Russian health insurance policies in Pridnestrovie.
