Serbian expert: What will happen to Pridnestrovie if civil observers are introduced? Will they escape?

The head of the Public Dialogue Forum analytical center comments on the appeals to reshape the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester

Tiraspol, August 4. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The head of the Serbian Public Dialogue Forum analytical center Vladimir Zotov commented on the intention of Chisinau to change the format of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester to a mission of international civil observers.

The expert from Serbia noted that he saw the Serbian Krajina's example when warring sides were divided by the UN peacekeeping forces.

«The republic was under the international protection, but these peacekeeping forces couldn't prevent the Operation Storm of the Croatian forces supported by NATO. They have absolutely freely let the Croatian military force pass and they basically wiped out this republic. Then, more than 200 thousand people were expelled from the republic, more than 6 thousand died," Zotov reminded.

He wonders if the international UN observers couldn't stop bloodshed in Serbian Krajina, what will happen to Pridnestrovie if the mission is reshaped.

«What will happen to Pridnestrovie if civil observers are introduced? Will they escape? Or after all events they will make a protocol as it was in the Operation Medak Pocket when several villages literally had been slaughtered, and then both the French and Canadian peacekeepers just came and made protocols," the expert told.
