Tiraspol, August 3. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In the nearest future, official Chisinau aims 'to solve the Pridnestrovian problem' for own benefit practicing any methods and means at the same time. Declaration of the Russian Deputy PM — the Russian President's envoy for Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin persona non grata only confirms the fact that Moldova is ready to take the most violent political measures ignoring further consequences, as they have the USA on its side. The head of the Political Science and Political Management Department of the Shevchenko PSU full professor Ilya Galinsky commented on the latest events around the Moldo-Russian relations in the interview to Novosti Pridnestrovya.
As the Pridnestrovian expert noted, there had been certain calm in the Moldo-Pridnestrovian relations not so long ago, and all the sides of the negotiation process had adapted to such scenario, but then there had been a sudden twist: Moldova encouraged by the western partners had begun the anti-Russian activity.
«Moldovan authorities have taken a number of demonstrative and ultimative steps, including the legislative ones aimed to torpedo the Russian peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie and to expel the Russian peacekeepers and military personnel protecting ammo dump in the village of Kolbasna in the Pridnestrovie's territory. The political rhetoric of the Moldovan politicians seeking for different provocations at the same time hardened, that is expulsion of the Russian officials, experts, businessmen, actors from Chisinau, a scandal with the Russian Deputy PM Dmitry Rogozin and further declaration of him persona non grata. In fact, such serious acts cannot be done by a small country with poor influence like Moldova independently. And it is not done with a wave of a magic wand, it is done determinately, aggressively ignoring further consequences as an order from an HQ," professor Galinsky emphasizes.
The current establishment in Chisinau tries also to sow the seeds of anti-Russianism in the minds of Moldova's population using nationalist slogans, accusing Russia of intervention in internal affairs and of undermining Moldova's sovereignty. The aim of such actions is clear — the last polls of RM residents show that support of the Russian peacekeeping presence on the Dniester by the people is rather strong.
Ilya Galinsky notes that Moldova uses much of the 'best' practices of modern Ukraine today.
«Authorities of Moldova and Ukraine supported by the USA agreed to synchronize aggressive actions on the Russian-Pridnestrovian direction down to possible simultaneous military operations on the Pridnestrovian and Donetsk directions taking into account the distance barriers between Russia and Pridnestrovie and impossibility of Russia to make an adequate response and those serious problems in the relations with the USA.
In other words, it is entirely possible that there can be open military aggression against Pridnestrovie by the Republic of Moldova. However, on the other hand, a total economic, boundary, territorial, visa, information blockade of Pridnestrovie by Moldova doesn't look less cruel than military aggression at all, because Moldova is quite capable to make it in order to bring Pridnestrovie to its knees," the Pridnestrovian expert considers.
Ilya Galinsky is sure that in this new extreme confrontational situation Russia and Pridnestrovie have to develop a plan of counteraction to the aggressive policy of Moldova on the Russian-Pridnestrovian direction immediately using all the intellectual expert political potential.
«Also, a new strategy and tactics towards Pridnestrovie should be worked out (by Russia — an editor's note) probably. Delays are dangerous!» the head of the Political Science and Political Management Department of the Shevchenko PSU full professor Ilya Galinsky concluded.
