Tiraspol, 7 July. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie's MFA pays special attention to the adoption by the State Duma of a statement on negative trends in the development of the situation around Pridnestrovie in connection with the actions of the Government of Moldova and the Ukrainian authorities," reads a press release on the ministry's official website.
The MFA expresses support for the position of Russian parliamentarians, as reflected in the declaration. The ministry also noted that the document adopted by the State Duma shows the unity of approaches of Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation as regards an objective assessment of the situation around the country, as well as the current state of affairs in the negotiating process.
«We consider the State Duma's call for an immediate resumption of the regular work of the 'Permanent conference…' in the '5+2' format relevant and appropriate. We are convinced that any impediments to the stable functioning of this negotiating platform lead to a deterioration of relations between the parties and provoke further unilateral coercive measure against Pridnestrovie. The ministry shares the position of Russian parliamentarians that any form of blockading the PMR, including through the establishment of Moldo-Ukrainian joint control at the Pridnestrovian border is inadmissible," notes the MFA.
The foreign ministry shares the State Duma's assessment of the situation in the peacekeeping sphere in the region.
«Any attempts to shatter the existing peacekeeping mechanism, including by obstructing the work of the Joint Control Commission, increase tensions and aims solely at the destruction of sustainable peace in the entire regional space," says the comment.
The ministry emphasises the high degree of consensus in the State Duma on the situation around Pridnestrovie expressed in the unanimous adoption of the declaration mentioned above.
«We consider this to be a fair and objective affirmation of the arguments of the Pridnestrovian side in a dialogue with international partners on the most relevant and pressing issues on the agenda of the negotiating process," says the MFA.
The ministry calls on all international participants in the «5+2» format to take into account the position of the parliamentarians of Russia, a guarantor state and mediator in the settlement process, to make every effort to prevent any form of pressure on Pridnestrovie as an equal side of the negotiations and to take steps to hold a meeting of the «Permanent conference…» in the «5+2» format without preconditions in order to intensify the process of finding compromise solutions exclusively at the negotiating table.
