Tiraspol, 4 July. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The government hosted a meeting with members of the republican organisation disabled defenders of Pridnestrovie. Earlier, on 4 April, they had been received by the president and government members.
Today, the meeting participants discussed the outcome earlier assignments made at the request of the disabled veterans. One of the issues under consideration was the provision of an additional pension to the widows of the disabled war veterans who passed away, the government's press service reports. As the members of the organisation said, 59 women fall under this category.
«According to the law on State Pensions, the widow of the Pridnestrovie's defender who died as a result of wounds incurred during the military conflict may obtain her basic labour pension and survivor's pension," said the social security and labour minister, Yelena Kulichenko.
There are 80 women who receive this pension, and 75 more widows receive survivor's pension. At the same time, the initiative proposed by the organisation members relates to the widows of deceased combatants without binding to the wounds received during the conflict.
Vice Premier Alexey Tsurkan instructed the relevant ministry and the public organisation to finalise this proposal and find a consensus on this issue.
Another urgent topic is the provision of consumer loans to disabled defenders. This issue will be further elaborated by the government with a view to concluding a tripartite agreement with Sberbank and the public organisation, as well as defining subsidised loan rates.
Another issue is the provision of petrol to the organisation. According to the head of the organisation, most of the state administrations have expressed willingness to provide assistance. Besides, according to the labour minister, social security services will soon receive seven vehicles.
«They are specially designed, including a lift, for the transportation and needs of persons with disabilities. We will donate them to [our offices] in Dubossary, Rybnitsa, Slobodzeya district," said Kulichenko. They will be particularly used by disabled defenders.
Further meetings with the organisation of disabled veterans were also discussed. They are supposed to be held at least twice a month. «The resolution of the issues will show the efficiency of our meetings," said the organisation member Georgy Bragutsa.
They also discussed additional funding for health care services for disabled veterans, which will be later considered by the government.
