Bendery, 29 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. An investigation is underway regarding the death of a peacekeeper at Post #7 in Dubossary, Pridnestrovie'e co-chair to the JCC, Oleg Belyakov, said in an interview with journalists.
«Yesterday, at 19:35, a tragic incident occurred at Post #7. A Pridnestrovian peacekeeper died on duty. The investigation authorities should have their say," said Belyakov.
«At the JCC meeting, we expressed our condolences to the family of the deceased and honoured his memory with a minute of silence. The peacekeeping forces and law enforcement agencies will do their best to investigate this incident," underscored Oleg Belyakov.
As the Defence Ministry's website reports, Lance Corporal Maxim Borodiy, a native of Dubossary who served in the joint peacekeeping contingent, committed suicide following a family quarrel.
