Tiraspol, March 30. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie and Moldova will send a letter with an offer to convene a meeting in the framework of the 5+2 format negotiation platform to the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, the Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz in the nearest future. The Pridnestrovie's President Vadim Krasnoselsky told about it to the journalists following the results of the meeting with the Moldova's president Igor Dodon during the briefing.

«We have agreed to address the Acting chairman of OSCE, the Foreign Minister of Austria Sebastian Kurz with an offer to convene a meeting in the 5+2 format in the nearest future. On this platform, we also hope to consider an issue concerning installation of the Moldova's customs and border checkpoint in Kuchurgan," the Pridnestrovie's President explained.

Vadim Krasnoselsky also emphasized that plan of Moldova to organize the customs and border control on the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border was a unilateral measure which didn't add positive to the relations of Moldova and Pridnestrovie.

«We gave to Igor Nikolaevich's colleagues information on the current and possible risks which will, for sure, arise if these checpoints appear. It will cause budgetary losses, as well as job losses and threat to medium and small business. In fact, I don't see why it is necessary to place them because the EUBAM mission already works there. So what else do they need? Against whom do they want to fight, against what contraband? But Igor Nikolaevich Dodon told that, of course, he was against discrimination of the Pridnestrovian businessmen and disadvantages for Pridnestrovie, so the Moldovan side promised to explore the information on losses of Pridnestrovie," the Pridnestrovie's President told.

The Pridnestrovie's side has already informed all participants of the negotiation format on intention to convene the meeting in the 5+2 format and hopes that the voice of Pridnestrovie will be heard after all.

«We try to get attention and we want the problem which can arise to be heard about. Our task is to explain possible risks and losses (editor's note — caused by installation of the Moldova's control station at the Kuchurgan checkpoint on the Pridnestrovian-Ukranian border) to the colleagues, the participants and the mediators of the 5+2 format," Vadim Krasnoselsky added.

Novosti Pridnestrovya reported that the meeting between the presidents of Moldova and Pridnestrovie had been held in the Holercani village in Moldova. Senior level dialogue was initiated by Igor Dodon. It was the second meeting of the Moldova's and Pridnestrovie's leaders. The first one took place at the initiative of the Pridnesrovie's President Vadim Krasnoselsky in Bendery on January 4 of the current year.

«This meeting shows that negotiation process in the 1+1 format, as well as, of in the 5+2 format to be continued. I advocate for any negotiations because it is possible to reach a compromise or at least to move in its direction only on the platform of negotiations," Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.

«Besides, I told that after the meeting which had been held on January 4 in Bendery, we had managed to unblock the work of the Joint Control Commission and I asked Igor Nikolaevich to pay attention to the JCC's work that is not to create conditions for its blocking at all. In turn, I guaranteed to pay attention to this issue of the negotiation process too," the Pridnestrovie's President noted.

Heads of Pridnestrovie and Moldova discussed humanitarian, economic, as well as cultural issues. Each side had its own agenda including problems requiring urgent measures.

«We have reached understanding in some issues, but in some we haven't," Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.
