Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated Dmitry Rogozin on this occasion

On 21 March 2012, the Russian president signed Decree No. 320 «On special representative of the President of the Russian Federation on Pridnestrovie”. This has opened a new stage in bilateral relations between the countries and, in particular, helped to establish systemic interagency work.

«Taking into account Pridnestrovie’s right, enchrined in international documents, to establish and maintain independent international contacts in the economic, scientific, technical and cultural spheres (1997 Memorandum) as well as the Zhukov-Smirnov Protocol of 2006, a new protocol was signed in 2013 by Russia’s presidnetial envoy on Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin and Pridnestrovian President Yevgeny Shevchuk. The protocol was further supplemented by over 15 framework interagecy cooperation memorandums which are the platform for direct communication, methodological and other kind of assistance,” said Rogozin’s adviser Dmitry Loskutov.

In 2013, Russia’s non-profit organisation ANO Eurasian Integration launched a project to build and reconstruct socially important facilities in Pridnestrovie, which is done at the expense of funds allocated by the Russian Federation. Ten new objects, including five kindergartens, a school. a concrete plant, have been built over this period. Besides, the organisation had donated four new trolleybuses. Logistical support is also provided to organise refresher courses for medical doctors and equip medical and educational facilities.

In compliance with the Russian president’s decision, Russia has financed the publication of 370,000 textbooks for Pridnestrovian schools. Design and exploratory works on the investment programme «Reconstruction, rehabilitation anddevelopment of irrigation systems employed in Pridnestrovie’s agricultural complex” are currently being carried out.

Over these five years the post of special representative of the Russian president on the PMR has been held by Russia’s vice premier Dmitry O. Rogozin. Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated him on this anniversary during their meeting.

«I and V.N. Krasnoselsky congratulated each other: he congratulated me on the 5th anniversary of my work as special representative of the Russian president on Pridnestrovie, and I congratulated him on his first 100 days as the president of the republic,” Rogozin wrote on his Facebook page.

According to Dmitry Loskutov, during the meeting the sides raised issues related to the provision of support for Russian citizens and compatriots living in Pridnestrovie, as well as the intensification of cooperation in the trade, economic, social and humanitarian fields.

«The Russian side expressed concern over the possible adverse effects on the economy of the whole region, freedom of movement and security in the light of the unilateral steps taken by Chisinau to establish customs and border control at the crossing point Kuchurgan (from the Ukrainian side). The situation requires further assessment of all possible risks and the unconditional attention of international mediators and guarantors of the negotiating process”, Loskutov commented in social media.
