Dubossary, 2 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Addressing a rally dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the beginning of Moldova's military aggression against the people of the PMR, President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that Pridnestrovians will always remember those tragic events.

«Moldovan politicians call upon the leadership and people of Pridnestrovie to stop living in the past. We do not live in the past, we remember the past," said the president.

Speaking about the current relations with the official Kishinev, the president recalled that some Moldovan politicians are urging today to completely destroy the «5+2» negotiating format and impose a total blockade on Pridnestrovie by establishing posts on Ukrainian territory. High-ranking Moldovan officials call Moldovan combatants who participated in the war «fighters for democracy”.

«What a strange fight for democracy — to kill their own people! We don't need this kind of democracy," said Krasnoselsky.

«I personally welcome Moldovan President Igor Dodon's desire to solve economic and humanitarian problems. We are certainly seeking a compromise, but it is very difficult for us because there are very many unilateral actions and sharp statements by other politicians. Everything is very ambiguous," added the president.

Vadim Krasnoselsky is convinced in this regard that independence is the PMR's only security guarantee.

«Moldova['s leaders] had better gain an understanding of what they want for their people, let alone their neighbour. And we want peace. [We want] the history of war to be over and the history of peace and good in our country to continue," concluded the president.
