Tiraspol, February 13. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie's President Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova James Pettit. Welcoming the American ambassador and his colleagues, Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude for the concern to the relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova and his hope for the further positive dialogue, the Presidential Press Office reports.
«We welcome your participation in the 5+2 negotiation format. There's an array of issues having an impact on the lives of the people. We will discuss them today and clear up the position on this or that perspective. Anyway, we count on normal positive dialogue», — the head of state noted.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to the RM James Pettit noted the importance of the fact that elections in Pridnestrovie and Moldova had come to an end emphasized: «New presidents give new opportunities for improvement of relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol. I am very optimistic about it. I think that the new points of view will promote improvement of the situation».
James Pettit said that he understood urgency of the economic and political challenges with which Pridnestrovie has to cope. He is sure that in order to make progress in the settlement of the Moldo-Pridnestrovian relationship, «patience and a new view» are needed.
«We hope that there will be visible progress in this issue soon. In return, we try hard to convince our partners from Chisinau that they did well in this area," the American official noted. He is sure that the main thing in any relationship is a compromise.
The Pridnestrovie's President also told that it would be impossible to make progress without compromises and arrangements. At the same time, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that «the compromise has to be mutual».
