Tiraspol, 30 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Within the framework of the industry and innovation forum «Industry. innovations. Technologies”, which is taking place in Kaluga, the delegation of Tiraspol, including head of the city Sergey Danulyuk and president of Pridnestrovie's Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yury Ganin, met the leadership of the municipality of Kaluga, the website of Tiraspol's state administration reports.
Speaking to the head of Kaluga, Konstantin Gorobtsov, Sergey Danliyuk noted the high organisational level of the event, as well as a large number of local innovation-driven enterprises. He noted the fact that since 2005 Tiraspol and Kaluga have been linked with a cooperation agreement in the spheres of economy, culture and education.
In turn, Vladimir Trandasir underscored that «unfortunately there has been a pause in recent years; contacts between the municipalities have been limited to youth exchanges, and therefore, with the parties' consent this visit to Kaluga may find a new lease of life and seriously refresh the structure of the agreement signed by the cities.»
The Tiraspol guests outlined the main areas of cooperation with Kaluga. In particular, this refers to the establishment of interaction between university departments studying the Russian language and literature. Also, Tiraspol wants to set up multi-level relations with Kaluga's municipal enterprises in the sphere of passenger transportation, public utilities, as well as with local plants and business community.
As a first step, it is planned to organise and hold seasonal agricultural fairs in Kaluga where fruit, vegetables and canned goods from Pridnestrovie will sell at reasonable prices.
Kaluga's head thanked the guests for the meeting, underscoring the importance and necessity of further development of fraternal ties. «We are friends with a lot of CIS and foreign cities, including Tiraspol. In my opinion, a number of provisions of the agreement signed in 2005 between our cities have become obsolete; it is necessary to introduce new ones which were voiced during today's meeting in order to jointly move forward, dynamically developing economic and cultural ties, supporting the interests of the Russian world," said Kaluga's mayor.
Konstantin Grobtsov proposed to allocate two weeks to draw up a new agreement between the cities. The deputy head of Kaluga's economy and property department, Roman Evstratov, will coordinate the elaboration of the agreement on the part of Kaluga.
As we have informed, yesterday Sergey Danilyuk, Vladimir Trandasir and Yury Ganin took part in a plenary meeting of the Kaluga Industry and Innovation Forum.
