Independent observers from Pridnestrovie take part in session of Russia-Moldova intergovernmental commission

Tiraspol, 29 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The 14th session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Russia and Moldova has finished in Moscow today. The session was attended by a Pridnestrovian delegation comprising the first deputy prime minister of the PMR, Alevtina Slinchenko, the minister of foreign affairs, Vitaly Ignatyev, and the acting general director of GUKP Pridnestrovian Railways, Alexander Rayko.

As previously reported, the debate in which the Pridnestrovian side took part focused on unblocking the freight rail and road communications through Pridnestrovie. As a result, the parties managed to reach agreement on the inclusion in the final report of a number of provisions, including those concerning motor transport issues, which are of interest to Pridnestrovie. Other proposals by Pridnestrovie would be stipulated in a separate annexe to the protocol

The press service of Pridnestrovie's MFA notes that on the sidelines of the session the Pridnestrovian delegation held a meeting with Russia's deputy prime minister, special envoy of the Russian president on Pridnestrovie, Dmitry Rogozin, as well as with the deputy foreign minister of Russia, State Secretary Grigory Karasin, who welcomed the participation of independent observers from Pridnestrovie in the work of the intergovernmental commission. During the meeting with Russia's high government officials, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues of bilateral Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation. Special attention was given to the current situation in the negotiations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

Within the framework of the ongoing visit to Moscow, Vitaly Ignatyev is yet to hold meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Duma.
