Tiraspol, 8 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatyev met Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Moldova Lucy Joyce, who made her first visit to Pridnestrovie after the appointment.
As the press service of the foreign ministry reports, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation. In particular, they exchanged views on the prospects of the humanitarian projects implemented by the British embassy in Pridnestrovie.
Certain aspects of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova were also discussed in the course of the discussion. In particular, Vitaly Ignatyev drew the British ambassador's attention to Moldova's actual refusal to have a substantive dialogue with Pridnestrovie and its ongoing practice of imposing unilateral restrictions against the PMR.
Representatives of the British embassy also met the leadership of Pridnestrovie's Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the chamber's website reports.
The president of the CIC, Yury Ganin, described the economic situation in the country, focusing on Pridnestrovie's foreign trade, in particular with the European Union and Great Britain. They also discussed the chamber's activities in implementing technical assistance international projects.
Lucy Joyce, in turn, expressed hope for the development of bilateral dialogue aimed at developing and strengthening the country's economy.
