Pridnestrovian foreign minister Vitaly Ignatyev meets Abkhazian president Raul Khadzhimba

The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation

Tiraspol, 25 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, within the official visit to Abkhazia, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatyev met President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba, the MFA's press service reports.

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation. They exchanged views on the current situation on the external perimeter of Pridnestrovie. In particular, it was noted that Abkhazia was closely monitoring the situation around the PMR and empathised with its sister republic. It was especially emphasised that the people of Pridnestrovie had an indefeasible right for their own identity and international recognition.

The Abkhazian president noted that cooperation between the two states would continue and strengthen. «Nothing should stop us; everything should be done for the benefit of our nations. The rights of nations should not be limited to individual entities," said Khadzhimba.

As the press service of the Abkhazian president reports, the Pridnestrovian foreign minister conveyed the warmest wishes to Raul Khadzhimba on behalf of Pridnestrovian President Yevgeny Shevchuk and presented him the Order of Friendship in connection of the 26th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
