Bendery, 13 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The work of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) has recently been experiencing some crisis, Pridnestrovie's co-chair of the JCC Oleg Belyakov said in an interview with journalists. According to him, this involves a change in approaches by Kishinev officials to the settlement of certain issues.
«It [crisis] consists in the absence of the permanent Moldovan co-chair of the JCC. With the acting co-chair, approaches to the previously highlighted issues have completely changed. Approaches to the problem of foreign aircraft flights in the Security Zone have also changed. We can really see there is certain misunderstanding on this issue; approaches to addressing the problem of activities and principles of cooperation with the OSCE Mission have also changed," said Oleg Belyakov.
According to Belyakov, the improper conduct of the acting Moldovan co-chair is arousing bewilderment.
«We have made sure that this representative makes unjustified statements against the Pridnestrovian delegation. During the whole meeting on 6 October he called the Pridnestrovian side a Taliban group. Let's speculate what Taliban is. It is a terrorist organisation. In other words, you are calling all Pridnestrovians terrorists, aren't you? This is already some kind of political statements," underscored Oleg Belyakov.
The Pridnestrovian side has put out a corresponding statement requiring the Moldovan delegation to explain the conduct of the authorised official.
Oleg Belyakov has urged Moldovan representatives «not to politicise the JCC's work and deal exclusively with issues related to peace and security in the region.»
