Russian vice premier praises level of cooperation with Pridnestrovian leadership

Dmitry Rogozin: "What we have done over the past years looks decent. We should be proud of these achievements"

Tiraspol, 11 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian President Yevgeny Shevchuk held a meeting with a Russian delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Government, Special Envoy of the Russian President on Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin.

Opening the meeting, Yevgeny Shevchuk greeted members of the Russian delegation and on behalf of the Pridnestrovian state expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Russian Federation and personally Dmitry Rogozin for their assistance to Russian citizens residing in Pridnestrovie and compatriots. «The republic is in difficult socio-economic situation. A serious contribution to social infrastructure has created conditions where we have saved lives through new medical equipment, which was purchased with the Russian funds, where we have new schools, kindergartens, new books," said the president. «And let me thank the Russian president and you, Dmitry Olegovich [Rogozin], for your involvement and creating the opportunities which all Pridnestrovians may enjoy, for providing humanitarian assistance to our pensioners. The assistance regularly arrives under such difficult conditions.»

Dmitry Rogozin stressed the importance of the event that took place today in Tashlyk village — the opening of a new school built by ANO Eurasian Integration. «Gifting a school to children is probably the event to remember for the whole life. What could be more humane and noble than gifting a school? A Moldavian-language school. It is vital for us to preserve the republic as an example of people of various nationalities, united by the common idea, statehood and republic, protecting together the interests of their small Motherland. And we must consider how we'll continue to help such schools — not Russian-language, but Ukrainian- and Moldavian-language schools. First of all, with textbooks, [and also providing] moral and organisational support," said Dmitry Rogozin.

Concluding his speech, Dmitry Rogozin underscored: «What we have done over the past years looks decent. We should be proud of these achievements. The people feel it; I have seen their reaction today. This cannot be shammed.»

A large-scale Russian humanitarian project was launched in 2012 in Pridnestrovie after Yevgeny Shevchuk was elected president. The same year the course for Eurasian integration was adopted as the national idea of Pridnestrovie. Those events did not remain unnoticed in Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin introduced the post of special envoy of the president on Pridnestrovie, which was assumed by Dmitry Rogozin — a significant figure not only in Russia, but also in the world. Earlier, the official had served as a Russian representative to NATO. Today Rogozin is a Russian vice premier.

14 social facilities are currently under construction within the project implemented by ANO Eurasian Integration. Most of them are kindergartens, schools and medical institutions. It should be mentioned that the incumbent head of state highlighted education and healthcare as his domestic policy priorities. Over the past five years these sectors have received much more investments than throughout the previous years of Pridnestrovie's existence.
