Tiraspol, 20 September. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Harmonisation of Russian and Pridnestrovian legislation is long overdue, and it should be carried out as soon as possible. As Vyacheslav Tobukh, leader of the public movement For the Recognition of Pridnestrovya, said in an interview with Novosti Pridnestrovya, our country's entire foreign policy is built on the results of the 2006 referendum, and it is necessary today to seek the implementation of the plebiscite's results through all diplomatic methods and public diplomacy methods.
«It would be ideal if Russian legislation were applied here. I mean both the president's decree and the foreign policy concept of the PMR, elaborated by the MFA, as well as other decisions," said the public activist.
Vyacheslav Tobukh recalled that Pridnestrovians's stance has remained unchanged over the past 10 years since the referendum. And the president, as the guarantor of the Constitution and the executor of popular will, must do everything he can to implement the referendum results. Speaking about increasing pro-Russian rhetoric in the pre-election period, Tobukh stressed that it is concrete actions rather than words that must matter.
«You must look at the deeds. If we analyse the lawmaking activities of the 5th Supreme Council, we may see that a law on Russian flag, which suggested the equal use of the Pridnestrovian and Russian national flags, was rejected by the parliamentary majority. We considered tax laws that are successfully applied in Russia, and in the same manner, the majority defeated the whole package of tax bills. So we have the example which confirms that their [the majority's] deeds directly contradict their statements," said Tobukh.
According to him, today certain political forces are trying to use the image of Russia to achieve their goals and, possibly, influence the views of the voters.
«This 'show' that is being organised now with the blind involvement of United Russia MPs is nothing more than a pre-election PR, which also occurred five years ago. We remember that when the Renewal party pushed forward its candidate, Kaminsky, there were billboards across Pridnestrovie, including with a photograph of Putin, but this, however, did not prevent the then presidential candidate Kaminsky from speaking about rapprochement with Moldova. He made direct statements that we were ready [to agree to] a federation or even a confederation. And this did not prevent him from posing on the billboards along with the Russian president, although we knew they had never met before," said the activist.
According to him, such actions are nothing less than «playing a Russian card» in a political game.
«Just look who are the main critics of the president's decree on the implementation of the referendum results? — Renewal party members. They are constantly voicing severe criticism and reproaches in social media and on TV. I think everything is clear here, «summed up Vyacheslav Tobukh.
