Tiraspol, 7 September. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The public organisation the Union of the Moldavians of Pridnestrovie has issued a commentary of its head, Valerian Tulgaru, on the presidential decree «On the implementation of the results of the republican referendum held on 17 September 2006».
«The Union of the Moldavians of Pridnestrovie fully supports the presidential decree 'On the implementation of the results of the republican referendum held on 17 September 200'. Moreover, the union considers it to be well-timed and sound. The president's decree issued in the run-up to the 10-anniversary of the republican referendum, the president has clearly signalled that the legal acts that contradict the federal legislation of the Russian Federation will not be subject to application as violating the will of the people of Pridnestrovie», says Tulgaru.
The Union of the Moldavians believes this will accelerate the harmonisation of Pridnestrovie's laws with the legislation of the Russian Federation, which in turn will lead to improved economic relations with Russia.
«Legal differences hinder the resolution of some problems in the financial and economic spheres, tax and customs policy, in the field of social security, health and education and other public life spheres. We believe that bringing Pridnestrovie's legal system into the line with the federal legislation of the Russian Federation based on the presidential decree will be another real step of rapprochement with great Russia, which corresponds to the will of the Pridnestrovian people," underscores the union’s head.
