Tiraspol, 28 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The briefing hall of the Palace of Republic hosted a press conference on the visit by the Pridnestrovian delegation to Novosibirsk, which resulted in a twinning agreement.
Among the issues raised at the press conference was promoting further cooperation between Tiraspol and Novosibirsk. Special attention was given to the issues of tourism and exchange of children's delegations.
«We are currently negotiating the participation of our children in the International Forum of Arts, which takes place in Siberia in 2017. The preparation is already under way. There is intense interest in sending children to our recreation camps. This is the simplest type [of cooperation] that can be realised as early as 2017," said the chair of the government, Pavel Prokudin.
He also said that many natives of Siberia had fought in the Moldavian SSR, and not once had members of historic search groups expressed their interest in working in our country.
The chairman of the Communist Party of Pridnestrovie, Oleg Khorzhan, said that the Novosibirsk authorities are interested in close cooperation with Pridnestrovie in the tourist sphere.
«We have a lot of sun, a good climate. Many people used to come here to holidays during the Soviet era. I think we'll invite a Novosibirsk delegation to visit Kamenka's sanatorium and recreation camps,” said Oleg Khorzhan.
On 22 June the mayor of Novosibirsk, Anatoly Lokot, chair of Pridnestrovie's government, Pavel Prokudin, and the head of the Tiraspol Administration, Andrey Bezbabchenko, signed the twinning agreement between Tiraspol and Novosibirsk. The document does not only provide for close economic cooperation, but also political support.
