Tiraspol, 30 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Specialists of state-run Pridnestrovian Agricultural Research Institute have earned medals and cups at an international exhibition in Romania, the agricultural ministry's press service reports.
«Pridnestrovian plant breeders' labour and high achievements have won eight golden, three silver and two bronze medals. Besides, they have received a special cup for participating in the international exhibition, and a cup appreciating and acknowledging the work of our institute as the institute used to be well-known in Romania," said the research institute director, Dmitry Gradinar.
According to the director, Dr. rer. agrar. Aleksey Gumanyuk also participated in the work of the EUROINVENT international exhibition, which took place in Jaşi from 19−21 May, and in Timişoara's International Salon of Innovations on 25−27 May. He presented specimen developed by the Pridnestrovian research institute in the agrarian sectors of the exhibitions.
«We have received high assessments of the work of our institute and the work of our already known, and which is especially gratifying, young breeders. So high was the assessment of the work of our institute's specialists Mikhail Nikulaesh and Maria Pityul, who are well-known among plant breeders. Their inventions have won a lot of awards. And the achievements of the young breeder, Margarita Recheys, are also worth mentioning," said Dmitry Gradinar.
He also noted that not only Pridnestrovian breeding specimens had been shown at the exhibition, but also preserved food made of them. They had been tasted and highly praised.
«As before, we presented pumpkin and tomato juices, and marrow paste. We also demonstrated products made by our institute's experimental preservation shop. These products are made of the plants specially bred for preservation. I want to emphasise that all the subjects we work on result in finished products. If the task is set to breed a plant for holocarpous preservation in tomato juice, we must perform the whole process to the extent that we preserve and produce finished products," Dmitry Gradinar explained the details of the institute's work.
